Description: This is the bridge Sonny almost crashes into while being trapped in the cabin of an out of control boat.
Additional Notes: The Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge near Danger Island was one of Australia's major engineering feats of the 19th century. The bridge we see today is almost identical to the original alongside, which was built in the 1880s by the Union Bridge Company of Pennsylvania U.S.A. The steel was fabricated by Arrol Brothers at the Dalmarnock Iron Works in Glasgow, Scotland. The base of the piers are trachyte quarried at Mt Gibraltar at Bowral N.S.W and topped with locally quarried sandstone. The new bridge which was of a similar design came into service in 1946 at which time the older bridge was dismantled. The piers of the original bridge remain alongside the replacement bridge.
